We were thrilled in October to host our very own inaugural Autumn concert in the beautiful St Margarets Church, Mountain Ash. Our musical guests for the evening were the wonderful Mountain Ash RFC Singers and the incredibly talented Mr Andrew Chinnock, Pianist. We were also delighted to award our first Young Musician Bursary recipient, Miss Mali Watkins from Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun, with her prize. Mali also amazed us with her performance on the harp. Thank you to all our friends, family and patrons for supporting us on the night.
It’s been a busy year so far for the choir, after welcoming our January intake of new members we were off on our first tour to FAKS Festival in Vrsar, Croatia. It was a great success on and off stage with much enjoyment had by all. Special thanks goes to Brian Williams of Cwmbach Male voice choir for helping us to organise it – no mean feat with a travelling party of more than one hundred choristers and friends!
On our return we made our way west to the Welsh Botanical gardens – what a fabulous place to sing in the greenhouse, surrounded by wonderful exotic plants and accompanied by the birds. We also had a wonderful afternoon tea and can’t wait for a return visit.
